Two men who allegedly hijacked Tebelelo Seretse, Botswana's Ambassador to the United States of America (US) in the North West Province, South Africa in 2009 have been arrested.

South African media reports say that the men were arrested in Lenasia South while driving from Palm Springs to Johannesburg on Thursday. They are expected to appear in the Rustenburg Magistrate's Court.

It is reported that during the incident the men approached Seretse's car on the N4 between Rustenburg and Swartruggens.
Brigadier Thulane Ngubane of South Africa Police Service had told the media that the men were driving in vehicles with blue lights and wearing camouflage uniforms when they held Seretse at gunpoint and stole her car. "Then they kept the former minister hostage for quite some time so that they could get some banking details so that they could use her bank card to withdraw money in different automatic teller machines around Johannesburg," he said.
