Seepapitso Raps Driving Schools, Corrupt Traffic Police

As accidents continue to claim more lives in Botswana, Bangwaketse paramount chief Seepapitso IV has accused driving schools of not teaching the right skills to learner drivers.

The controversial former ambassador also fired a salvo at  some corrupt traffic police officers for contributing to the increase in the road carnage.

Speaking at a Motor Vehicle Accident Fund (MVAF)  road safety campaign launch in Kanye on Saturday, he said: "The law needs to be stiff on driving schools because they are more interested in making money than giving proper training to learners. To them, it is fine as long as the learner driver does not make noise with the gear lever. You spend six months with them but you will have not learnt any skills that can help you become a good driver," Seepapitso charged.
