FRANCISTOWN: A man employed as a security officer at Matopi Clinic in the North East District has pleaded guilty to a single count of defilement.

Twenty-three-year-old Oageng Sedimo pleaded guilty to the charge when he appeared before Principal Magistrate Sijabuliso Siziba on Tuesday. The state alleges that Sedimo had unlawful carnal knowledge of a girl under the age of 16 in 2012 on a date unknown to the prosecution. Prosecutor James Moikotlhai told the court that he was not ready with the facts of the matter.

Siziba set April 25 for the facts of the matter to be read to the accused. In a similar matter, an unemployed man also from Matopi appeared before Siziba to answer to a single charge of defilement.
