On the second count, the State alleges that Sechele raped his girlfriend again on April 17, still at Riverside. On the last charge, the State alleges that Sechele raped his girlfriend on April 18 at the same location. Sechele pleaded not guilty to the charges after they were read to him.
The prosecutor in the case, Moatlhodi Macheng told the court that the State was not opposed to the accused being granted bail because investigations into the matters were complete.
“We will, therefore, furnish the accused with all necessary documents so that he may adequately prepare his defence,” Macheng said. He added that under the circumstances, the prosecution proposed that the accused shall be granted bail on the condition that he appears in court as and when required to do so; report himself to Tatitown police station on the last Friday of every month; not reasonably suspected of having committed any offence whilst on bail and binds himself with P1,000. Magistrate Game Mooketsi granted Sechele bail on conditions proposed by the State. Sechele is due in court on 2nd June ,2022 for mention to set dates for the initial case management conference.
