Saturday fete for retired Catholic bishop

Over 2,000 Catholics and well-wishers are expected to converge on the Christ the King Cathedral for the farewell party of the retired Bishop Emeritus Boniface Setlalekgosi on Saturday.

Newly ordained Botswana Catholic Bishop, Valentine Seane said the celebration will start with a Holy Mass followed by lunch. He explained that the Saturday event is open to the public. A second celebration on October 2 will be for dignitaries only.

"Bishop Emeritus Setlalekgosi has worked with all the presidents of this country so it would be fitting for them (the former presidents) to be accorded a chance to attend the second farewell party if they are unable to make it to the first one," said Seane at a press conference called by the church.
