The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) deputy director, assistant commissioner Keemenao Tshweneetsile has said joint capacity building is essential in the SARPCCO region as it brings officers from different countries together.

The Southern African Police Chiefs Cooperation Organisation (SARPCCO) is an organ made up of member countries in Southern Africa that realised the need to cooperate at regional level in order to address crimes threatening regional peace and tranquillity.

Officially closing a two-week course on investigators in trafficking in persons at the Botswana Police College on Friday, Tshweneetsile said human trafficking has gone beyond national boundaries, therefore international cooperation, networking and joint training play a vital role in the region to fight against this crime.
