* BCP women's league hosts African women workshop

The Botswana Congress Party (BCP) is hosting a three day workshop at Gaborone Sun, organised by the Women's Academy for Africa (WAFA). According to Daisy Bathusi, a BCP Central committee member, the workshop has representatives from the four member nations, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Mozambique and South Africa. The participants include the BCP Women's League members, the ruling African National Congress (ANC) of South Africa, Movement for Democratic Change(MDC) Ncube and MDC T of Zimbabwe, and the ruling Frelimo Party of Mozambique.

The objective of the workshop is to train women in politics on measures that can be taken to empower them in their decision-making positions in politics and governance. She said the workshop is the second one and the first was held for Western countries, while the third and fourth are in the pipeline.
