Botswana Congress Party (BCP) MP for Gaborone Central, Dumelang Saleshando intends to ask cabinet minister, Daniel Kwelagobe, to state the job description of a top aide to the Vice President Ian Khama. The MP wants the minister to explain why the post of senior private secretary to the Vice President is held by a soldier and not a civilian.

The post is currently held by Colonel Isaac Kgosi of the Botswana Defence Force (BDF). Khama is a former commander of the BDF. In a parliamentary question he intends to ask on Friday, Saleshando wants to know when Kgosi took up the position and his qualifications at the time of redeployment from the military.

The question is among the many that MPs are going to ask during the first meeting of the fourth session of the Ninth Parliament that commenced on Monday and ends on December 14.
