Salary delay as DCEC verifies MoE payment

Limkokwing University of Creative Technology, Botswana has indicated that it will credit salaries for staff members today, according to the public relations manager, Mercy Thebe.

Limkokwing had, according to staff, failed to credit their accounts because a cheque issued by the Ministry of Education had been intercepted by the Directorate on Corruption and Economic Crime (DCEC), which is reportedly probing the institution.By yesterday, reports were rife that staff members were threatening to go on strike if their end of January salaries were not credited. In a telephone interview, Thebe denied knowledge of a looming strike by staff members.

"We have not seen anything indicating that staff members are about to go on strike," she said.
