SA Tourism Week celebrated

South Africa (SA) Tourism Week begins tomorrow with the official opening of a trade and tourism fair at the SA High Commission in Gaborone.

Speaking at a press briefing on the celebrations, SA Tourism Regional Director responsible for the SADC region, Phumi Dhlomo, described Botswana as a very critical market for them. He said SA Tourism aims to continue attracting more tourists from the region as they regard Africa as a major market. Dhlomo described September as a very important month for SATourism as it is during this time that they celebrate and explore other tourism aspects left out. He said they have a vision to create 225, 000 jobs through tourism activities by 2020.

South Africa High Commissioner to Botswana, Lenin Shope said through tourism week, they will showcase what they have at home and look at how they can work with the local tourism authority to market similar tourism aspects.
