"Ruthless murderer" to hang

Justice Terrence Rannowane of the High Court here yesterday found that Thamo Zibane murdered his lover Sihle Dube and proceeded to dismember her body, then burnt it and scattered the body parts in the bush along the banks of Tati River and in an open space at Selepa in 2002.
The court said the manner in which Zibane had destroyed and disposed of the body of the deceased was calculated to make discovery difficult in order to save his own skin. "After a very careful and most anxious consideration, I find that there are no extenuating circumstances," the judge said. "I am therefore under an obligation to pass the ultimate penalty prescribed by the law."
