Rope Kills Primary Schoolboy

SELEBI-PHIKWE: Police in Sherwood are investigating an incident in which a Standard Seven pupil at a primary school in Mokobeng died while playing with a rope.

The deceased was killed by the hanging end of a rope that runs across a house. He was found hanging with the rope tied around his neck. The incident took place last week when the deceased was playing with others in a house.

Efforts by his playmates to discourage the boy from risking his life by playing with the rope hit a snag. One of the boys is said to have left the house to play outside the deceased and the other boy inside. It was only after he returned to the house to drink water that he found the deceased dead while the other boy was fast asleep. The boys are aged between 13 and 16.
