FRANCISTOWN: The main post office here was closed to the public on Monday morning as rumours of a break-in spread throughout the city.

Regular police and plain-clothed officers could be seen lurking around the building that is located downtown, opposite Barclays Bank on Blue Jacket Street. The area was cordoned off with a police red and white tape and customers and curious onlookers turned away.

Postmaster Ontibile Kimani subsequently confirmed that there had been a break-in at the post office, saying the thieves had managed to get inside the building but did not take anything.
