Revolution will not topple BDP - Merafhe

MAHALAPYE: Unionists, politicians and civil servants who display disrespect for President Ian Khama, Vice President Mompati Merafhe and cabinet ministers must face the consequences while parents must foot the bill for the repair and replacement of property destroyed by students who rioted in support of their striking teachers.

At a Kgotla meeting he addressed alongside the Assistant Minister of Local Government Botlhogile Tshireletso on Monday here, Vice President Merafhe urged unionists, politicians and public servants to refrain from their abusive language because it offended against the spirit of botho for which Batswana are known.

As the Vice President spoke, a number of striking civil servants present left in protest. Unfazed, Merafhe said some unionists and politicians had turned the gatherings of striking civil servants into freedom squares and displayed disrespect for people in high office.
