Residents threaten to sue Kweneng Landboard

One of the residents, speaking on condition of anonymity, said it is shocking that the landboard, after processing the transfer of certificates for the residents has summoned them and told them they are occupying the land illegally.
"It is quite interesting that they are now telling us the certificates in our hands are fake, yet we managed to use them to change ownership from the original owners who sold us the land, into leases. Other residents even got title deeds through the same landboard office. The land board is playing a dangerous game here and they are likely to be sued, not just by residents, but even banks that have given mortgages to some residents," she said.
