Residents blame WUC for unpaid bills

Councillor Kontle Basi of Thamaga East revealed recently at a Kweneng full council meeting that his constituents owe the utility thousands of Pula due to the accumulation of bills. He said he is surprised that the corporation has disconnected water from people who connected water several months ago for 'defaulting' when it has not given them bills.

"A lot of people are suffering. How would they have paid because even as we speak, there are no bills?" charged Kontle. "People are complaining about accumulated bills due to late billing from WUC. We have to do something about this as a council because a lot of families do not know what to do in a situation like this," he continued.
