Red Cross suspends two employees

The Botswana Red Cross Society has suspended two of its employees for various offences which include gross misconduct, disclosing confidential information to a third party, insolence, abuse of other employees, and insisting on divisions within the membership.

The duo had been asked to show cause why additional charges may not be added to the existing ones.

A letter dated July 8, 2022, written by Programmes Manager, Tshepo Garethata, stated: “On or about Thursday, July 2022, you transmitted an electronic mail (email) to the secretary-general of the society in which you allegedly made wide-ranging accusations and imputing lack of integrity and impropriety on the person of the secretary-general which conduct, viewed objectively, falls short of the standards expected by the society of someone in your position particularly whilst under suspension and awaiting a disciplinary hearing.
