Rapist Gets 10 Years In The Slammer

FRANCISTOWN: A 31-year-old man was on Friday sentenced to 10 years in jail after being convicted of one count of rape.

Mbatsi Chubiye, who has been remanded in custody since his arrest in September 2017, pleaded with the court to be merciful when sentencing him.

According to the charge sheet, the accused attacked, robbed and raped a woman in Maipaahela location near the railway line.
