FRANCISTOWN: Former Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) secretary general, Kentse Rammidi is scheduled to address what is expected to be a massive rally orgainised by the Botswana Movement for Democracy (BMD) on Saturday.

BMD secretary general, Wynter Mmolotsi informed Mmegi yesterday that Rammidi would be the guest speaker at the rally to be held at the Satellite Freedom Square in Francistown East constituency. The Kanye North MP is expected to set the BMD rally alight with his experiences in the BDP and possibly announce to the masses what really prompted his resignation from the ruling party.

"As a member of the opposition bloc now, he obviously has an opportunity to forge relations with other opposition parties," stated Mmolotsi. Rammidi has been invited by the BMD as a guest speaker at the rally and the fundraising dinner to be held at the Adansonia Hotel. The former BDP secretary general was previously one of President Ian Khama's trusted allies. At the Saturday rally, he is expected to explain why the BDP is no longer a party of choice. "Through Rammidi's address, we want to show the masses that there is nothing more left of the BDP now," stressed Mmolotsi whose party is a breakaway from the BDP. The weekend rally is meant to educate the masses about the policies of the BMD.
