Radibe, Makhandlela bury the hatchet

PALAPYE: Judging by the comradely exchanges between the Botswana Teachers' Union (BTU) president, Japhta Radibe and the director of the Teachers Service Management (TSM) director, Opelo Makhandlela, it seems the two have smoked the peace pipe.

It is an open secret that the TSM director and the leadership of teachers' unions often do not see eye-to-eye. Radibe was forced to take early retirement and has since filed notice to sue the government over the issue.

Makhandlela was invited to address teachers at BTU tertiary and secondary sectors annual conference in Palapye last week about teachers' welfare issues and he honoured the invitation. Radibe was over the moon about the TSM director's gesture.
