Questions raised over Airport Junction land

Members of the Reatile parliamentary committee investigating the collapse of Botswana Meat Commission (BMC) and the decline of the cattle industry in the country got more than they bargained for yesterday when they were given shocking information about the piece of land where the Airport Junction Mall is built.
Former BMC group company secretary, Linah Kalake told the committee that the land belonged to the commission and there are no records to show it was sold to the current owners. She said that adjacent to the mall is a filling station, which is supposed to be paying monthly rentals to the BMC, but there are no records of this.
