PSP quashes request for F/town parliament

FRANCISTOWN: Permanent Secretary to the President (PSP), Eric Molale, has dismissed the call by Francistown councillors to establish a second Parliament in the second city.

Last year, Francistown council adopted Itekeng ward councillor Sam Masunga's motion calling on the Office of the President to consider establishing a second Parliament in the city of Francistown.

In Molale's savingram dated February 26, 2008 to the City Clerk, the PSP said his office noted the council's call to establish "a second Parliament in the City of Francistown, it being the second City in Botswana".
