President Mogae returns from Zambia

President Festus Mogae is expected back from Zambia today after meeting his Zambiuan counterpart, Levy Mwanawasa, and performing the official opening of that country's 81st annual agricultural and commercial show.

The show is described by organizers as a "mirror reflecting Zambia's economic growth and its potential to the outside world."  It is the climax of district and provincial agricultural shows, which are held in the proceeding eight weeks.

On the commercial side, the event has in recent years become a showcase of Zambia's progress in pursuing macro economic stabilisation measures, which have resulted in higher levels of economic growth.
