MAKOMOTO: For a long time travellers on the A1 highway were used to passing by a little dusty area about fifteen kilometres from Tonota Village.

Most people might not have known whether it was a village, a settlement, a cattle post, lands or maybe it did not even matter but they identified it by the miles of firewood displayed along the road for sale.

That is Makomoto Lands where about three weeks the whole nation saw the Department of Forestry repossess all that firewood. What is left at Makomoto after the repossession of their main source of income?
