Poverty eradication drive gets P155m

For the 2012-13 financial year, P155 million under the development budget and P8 million under recurrent budget have been allocated to the Poverty Eradication Programme.

Finance and Development Minister Kenneth Matambo said that for poverty eradication programmes to remain relevant and sustainable continued effort to clearly target and periodically review them is critical.

Efforts aimed at economic diversification and competitiveness also need to be intensified as these have the potential to create jobs and raise the standard of living for Batswana.
