The maximum age for entry to the police volunteer programme has been raised from 60 to 65.

Police spokesperson, Christopher Mbulawa informed the media last week that they have realised the importance of the volunteer programme in the fight against crime.

Therefore, they have decided to raise the maximum qualifying age to expand the programme. Mbulawa was speaking after the police annual conference. "The introduction of cluster policing and police volunteer programme has tremendously enhanced police/community relations and has improved performance on the crime prevention landscape.
