Police probe rape of Gabane woman, 21

Mogoditshane police are investigating a case in which a 21-year-old young woman was attacked and raped in Gabane village early Saturday morning.

The young woman was walking home alone from a local bar when she met an unknown man who greeted her and volunteered to accompany her. No.13 District Officer Commanding, Senior Superintendent Mmoloke Sebako, said the incident occured around 2am.

"Whilst walking, the unknown man allegedly dragged and pulled the victim to a nearby shelter, rape her, and fled the crime scene. We have since launched a probe to locate the suspect who is still at large," Sebako said.
