Police never returned by my seized goods - robbery convict

FRANCISTOWN: Principal magistrate Thebeetsile Mulalu has advised a robbery convict to lodge a complaint against the investigating officer to the Francistown Central Police Station Commander after the convict claimed that the officer had seized his belongings and now denies any knowledge about them.

The magistrate referred robbery convict Shadrack Tsoko to the police but sentenced him to five years' imprisonment and ordered him to compensate Lewis Furniture P44, 999 for the un-recovered items.  The investigating officer - alleged by the convict to have seized his medicine, money and a cell phone during the search - has denied the accusations.

He told the court that when he searched Tsoko at his office, he only found a cell phone, and some money. He denied that he took two cell phones and the man's medicine.
