Botswana Police Service has fatally shot two armed robbers who were suspected to have attacked and killed a 54-year-old man of Indian origin yesterday at Phase II location in Gaborone.

The incident happened at around 1800 hours and according to the police, the deceased who are believed to be aged between 35 and 40 were in possession of a pistol and knives.

“The body of the deceased was found by the Police at the scene of crime when responding to a report by an anonymous caller. Upon arrival they were confronted by the suspects who charged at them as they were trying to flee the scene. Subsequently, the Police fatally shot the suspects,” police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Dipheko Motube revealed in a statement.

Motube indicated that police investigations to determine what transpired are continuing.
