Platinum Glitters At Kgafela II Coronation

For a while, the Kgatla main Kgotla was turned into a mini stadium of elegant seats and stands. The traditional Kgotla kraal, as well as the Bakgatla royal kraal, where the past Bakgatla diKgosi are buried,were demolished to make way for elegant temporary stands.

The 5,000 seater stands at the main Kgotla, no doubt gave it a unique picture on Kgosi Kgafela II's coronation day. The stands were erected all around the Kgotla. This is where part of the 20,000 crowd witnessing the paramount chief's coronation watched from.

Two giant screens were also mounted at the Kgotla facing two of the stands to enable the crowd to see the coronation ceremony clearly.
