Plans afoot to harmonise human resource training

Days of duplication and confusion of tasks between the Botswana Training Authority (BOTA) and Tertiary Education Council (TEC) are now over.

This was said by the chairperson of Human Resource Development Advisory Council (HRDAC) Joseph Lisindi, at an induction seminar in Gaborone on Tuesday.

Addressing seminar participants, Lisindi said that there will no longer be different entities in different ministries responsible for human resource development. He said that TEC, BOTA and human resource department have been working independently, which caused a lot of confusion and duplication of human resource development activities. He said that it is clear that there is no strategic approach from the government that addresses the development of human resources.
