Pirate cabbie commits suicide

MOCHUDI: Police here are investigating a case in which a 26-year-old man of Maitengwe village committed suicide on Monday night because his girlfriend would not share his bed.

According to the Commander of Mochudi Police Station, Simon Setale, the deceased - whose names are being withheld - left a suicide note stating that he was hanging himself "because his girlfriend did not sleep at home" with him. 

A source close to the deceased told Mmegi that the man earned a living by operating a pirate taxi between Mochudi and Gaborone with a car belonging to someone else.  The source said the deceased shared a rented house with his girlfriend at Phaphane in Mochudi.  The woman, reportedly a native of Mochudi, supported her boyfriend from her earnings as a bar attendant.
