Phikwe cllrs reject special full council meeting

SELEBI-PHIKWE: A special council meeting failed to take place yesterday after councillors rejected the agenda saying that they want to meet the Town Clerk first.

A source at the council indicated that the planned special full council was convened by the Town Clerk Kutlwano Matenge to consult with councillors on the latest developments in the mayoral office.

Instead of a special full council meeting, a management meeting was convened in the chamber. The council is in a crisis after the High Court temporarily blocked the ouster of the mayor, Lekang Mukokomani. Despite the High Court reprieve, councillors have indicated that they do not want to work with the mayor.
