SELEBI-PHIKWE: The council has to do with P27million less than it had budgeted for in 2009/2010 after the central government's approved ceiling fell short of the council's original requirement.

The Selebi-Phikwe Town Council (SPTC) had requested P145,351,670 but the final draft recurrent budget for the local authority is P117,842,390, a shortfall of P27,509,280.

Presenting the recurrent budget speech to a special full council meeting on Thursday, finance committee chairperson, Molosiwa Molosiwa, said the approved ceiling is way below the requirement originally submitted by the SPTC.
