Petrol thief gets 9 months in jail

FRANCISTOWN: A former employee of Tati Nickel Mining Company, Pervis Tshekiso who defrauded Engen south filling station out of petrol worth more than P16, 000, has been jailed for nine months.

Tshekiso who worked as an engine operator at the mine was sentenced to nine months' imprisonment and six months wholly suspended for two years.

Tshekiso is said to have bought 3,000 litres of petrol from the filling station on February 16 this year and paid with a cheque when he knew he did not have the funds in his account.
