Peer pressure: Enemy within the HIV/AIDS fight

FRANCISTOWN: Botswana's latest theatre offering, Ntwakgolo docu-drama is set to take the fight against HIV/AIDS to another level with its educational and empowering themes, with the first episode touching on the detriments of peer pressure.

Peer pressure has been identified as a major threat in the fight against HIV/AIDS as most teenagers are easily influenced by their age mates to engage in activities that are not only detrimental to their health but also their education and life goals.

The first episode exposes the mistaken belief that those who choose to abstain are abnormal while those who engage in early sexual activities are unduly praised for their self-defeating actions. The protagonist, Thabo (Oarabile Pitso) and his girlfriend Naledi (Mpho Sebolao) show that one does not need to be in a relationship for sex.
