Patron killed for refusing to leave bar

PALAPYE: Letlhakane police are investigating a case in which a 51-year-old brother of a depot owner allegedly killed a 46-year-old patron who reportedly refused to leave the establishment at closing time.

Letlhakane police station commander, Michael Maphephu said the incident at Mmatshumu village occurred during a misunderstanding between the patron and the depot owner.

“It is alleged that the deceased refused to obey the order to leave and instead began hurling insults at the depot owner,” Maphephu said.
