Pastor given refuge as NRH patients threaten him

FRANCISTOWN: There was drama at the Francistown Infectious Disease Care Clinic (IDCC) facility at Nyangabgwe Referral Hospital yesterday as patients seeking medical assistance clashed with a controversial visiting pastor.

When the Mmegi team visited the facility yesterday, the pastor had been given refuge by hospital authorities amid fears that patients would manhandle him over his sermon which they described as insensitive. The patients were still irked by the visiting Bible Life Ministry pastor Future Mfundla, whom they accused of condemning them for contracting HIV/AIDS.

"This man who calls himself a pastor from the Bible Life Ministry, found us gathered here and started harassing us with his 'bogus sermon' accusing us of suffering from AIDS because we were promiscuous," said an angry woman (name withheld). The woman threatened to break the windows of a black Chariot car, owned by the pastor but was restrained by colleagues who pleaded with her to let the authorities take charge of the situation.
