Passenger dies in road mishap

A Mercedes Benz and a Toyota Delta came crashing in a head-on collision at the Oodi turn-off along A1 highway last Friday killing a passenger instantly.



The deceased was a passenger in the Mercedes Benz car which was north-bound.

Broadhust Police Station Commander, Superintendent Obusitswe Lokae said in all four people were involved in the accident with three of them surviving with minor or no injuries.

“The accident occurred around 06:15hrs. It looks like the traffic lights had signaled a safe passage for vehicles that were driving straight, but the Toyota Delta driver failed to obey the traffic lights resulting in a head-on collision with the Mercedes Benz that was driving straight. The deceased died of head injuries at Sidilega Hospital where he was admitted," said Superintendent Lokae.
