I rate parliamentarians on Tuesday afternoon berated leader of the house, Daniel Kwelagobe, for seeking to alter the order of business by giving priority to discussion of a bill wanting to amend the University of Botswana Act.

Top of the list for discussion that afternoon was continuation of the discussion of the Media Practitioners Bill on which Leader of the Opposition, Otsweletse Moupo, had stood to contribute last Thursday, losing his turn to Selebi-Phikwe MP, Kavis Kario.

Among the proposed amendments to the UB Act is a provision to change the current practice in which the President automatically becomes chancellor of the university by virtue of his office.
