Parliamentary aspirant appeal for BDP unity

SELEBI-PHIKWE: An aspirant for the Selebi-Phikwe East parliamentary seat, Sarajevo Malepeng has called for unity in the ruling Botswana Democratic Party (BDP). He told the BDP members to close ranks after the forthcoming primary elections. "We must maintain a constant and unwavering support for the party."

He noted that the ruling party has laid a very strong foundation of national unity and true democracy of consultation and compromise. He indicated that the country's pattern of economic development is envied by others. He hailed the BDP for taking care of the youth and women. "Water supply plans are ongoing and P7 billion has been injected to Morupule Colliery to sustain electricity supply in the country and more developments are mushrooming."

Lands Minister and MP for Selebi-Phikwe East, Nonofo Molefhi said before the new President Ian Khama was sworn in, Batswana were deceived into believing that he will run a military government.
