Parents blamed for abducted kids

FRANCISTOWN: Parents and guardians have been blamed for children who go missing, sometimes through abductions.

A survey carried out on the streets of Francistown by this newspaper revealed that most people believe parents would have been negligent when their children go missing.

Cases have been reported where some of the children returned home while others were found dead with their bodies dumped in the forests. Many people believe such cases will continue until parents and guardians take better care of their children at home and at school. A married father of three, Loeto Malibamba of Gerald Estate says parents are not taking good care of their children. "I feel some parents are just careless. Sometimes the parents put the entire burden on the other parent when his/her child is outside playing. They only start worrying about the child when it is time for bed or maybe they want to bath them," he said.
