Palapye tycoon throws his weight behind BCP

PALAPYE: Joseph 'Bashi' Gampone, a well-known businessman from Serowe has thrown his weight behind the Botswana Congress Party (BCP).

The businessman owns  Jago Investments , a successful micro-lending company. Recently, he was the guest speaker at the launch of Dineo Tumotumo, the BCP council aspirant for Lotsane ward. Upon arrival at the rally party bigwigs James Olesitse, Maina Kgopo and Comfort Molosiwa accorded the flamboyant Gampone a royal welcome as he alighted from his Range Rover.

Though it was his political debut, Gampone spoke   like a seasoned politician. He took a swipe at the ruling Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) for carrying out what he called 'unsustainable development'. He said the ruling party's style of development only serves short term interests.
