Palapye police are the most compassionate

The Commissioner of Police, Thebeyame Tsimako, has commended Palapye police for being the overall winners of this year's Vision 2016 awards for promoting Botswana to become a Compassionate, Just and Caring Nation and for Best Project for Living the Vision.

Speaking at the handing over of the trophies at Palapye Police Station recently, Tsimako said the police did not want to be known only as crime busters, but as people who paid attention to other challenges in life.

The project started in 1999 when Palapye police adopted five-year-old Onalenna Joseph, who was then under the care of House of Hope. They saw the child, who is now a Form Three student, through pre-school and primary school.
