Pact launches Saleshando

SELEBI-PHIKWE: Multitudes of people thronged the mining town over the weekend to witness the launch of the Botswana Congress Party (BCP) president Gilson Saleshando as the Selebi-Phikwe West parliamentary candidate. Saleshando will hoist the BCP banner and that of its pact partner, the Botswana Alliance Movement (BAM).

The launch started with a motorcade around town. It was graced by veteran politician, Motsamai Mpho and other high-ranking BAM officials like party president Lepetu Setshwaelo. The organisers released white doves, which they described as an indication that all the candidates will win and walk in unity to council and parliament.

Speakers took turns to describe Saleshando as a fearless fighter, a faithful and very understanding servant. They showered him with accolades for pioneering opposition cooperation to oust the ruling party from power. The people were advised to desist from repeating the 2004 mistake of voting in Kavis Kario over Saleshando.
