PAC misses deadline

The Parliamentary Public Accounts Committee (PAC) led by Botswana Movement for Democracy (BMD) Chairman Nehemiah Modubule has failed to honor its deadline of May 31st, to wrap up its meeting with government ministries and departments.

The ministries and departments have been appearing before the PAC to account for the funds in their sections.The PAC aims to examine among others, value for money reports and management performance reports laid before Parliament after each financial year.

The meeting started on May 7th. Modubule, who is also the Lobatse Member of Parliament (MP), said many factors have prompted the extension of the deadline to Monday.
