P700,000 Miss Botswana war

The Miss Botswana licence holders, Botswana Council of Women (BCW) has blown over P700,000 meant for the first prize win, a Peugeot sedan, due to the queen, Rosemary Keofhitlhetse, claims Sweet Baint & Pleasant Worthy. The company tasked to stage last year’s Miss Botswana sourced the money.

Sweet Baint & Pleasant Worthy, the organising company, had sourced P700,000 from the Ministry of Youth, Sport and Culture for the running of the event including securing the prizes.

Sweet Baint & Pleasant Worthy claimed that all the money was channelled through the BCW, which never released a thebe even up to this day. This has led to the council terminating the three-year contract with the company.

The Projects Magazine today launched The Future of Mining Summit, set to become the country’s premier mining conference. The event is scheduled for 12th and 13th of June 2024, at Boipuso Hall, Fairgrounds in Gaborone.
