Over 10,000 teachers owed overtime

*Over 14,000 claims for course-work marking declined
An estimated 11,000 teachers are owed overtime, eight months after they were engaged to make up for time lost during the public service strike last year.

The industrial action forced the Ministry of Education and Skills Development (MoESD) to engage teachers to work after hours for five months starting last July.

The development came ahead of the Botswana General Certificate of Secondary Education (BGCSE), the Junior Certificate (JC) as well as the Primary School Leaving Examinations (PSLE).
