Over 10, 000 at risk of losing tertiary education

The future looks bleak for a total of about 10, 180 students, who either completed their Junior Certificate or Form Five despite having failed to pay school fees.

Speaking yesterday, she revealed that a total of about 10, 180 students from both junior and secondary schools have been allowed to sit for their examinations though they still owe school fees. She said these are the students who will be denied further education if they fail to pay what they already owe.

 
"If they do not pay we would no longer have any relationship or dealings with them in the future unless if they are sponsored by their parents," she stated.
The MoE spokesperson further stated that they have realised that most of the people who are not paying are the working class who stay in towns and cities while their children are at the villages. "Those who you would think will fail to pay have paid up and most of those who have not paid are the working class," she said.
