Outgoing youth leader calls for law on citizen empowerment

SEFHARE: Outgoing chairman of the Botswana Democratic Party National Youth Executive Committee (NYEC), Bontsi Monare, has called for a law to empower citizen contractors and service providers to benefit from government tenders.

Speaking in Sefhare recently, Monare said a law on citizen economic empowerment would go a long way to redeeming returns on CEDA investment loan capital, Young Farmers Fund and Youth Development Fund.

"The conversation around the possibility of enacting such a law is gaining momentum among young entrepreneurs and young professionals," he added.
